This one is my personal favorite upload, by far. This video comes from BlueEcko, He makes quite a few Grand Theft Auto videos, and also a lot of Minecraft and a few Payday 2 videos. I’m trying to find more diverse YouTubers so you guys can actually sub to them and not be flooded by just GTA Videos. Go check him out over on his YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/user/BlueEcko1/) or on his website (http://www.blueecko.com/)
Now, back to business! There isn’t much you need other than a computer with Google Chrome, an email account, a Rockstar Social Club account, and a image editing software(I’m going to refer to this as “IES”).
Don’t have chrome? Go here – https://www.google.com/chrome
Don’t have IES? Go here – http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ (Here is a walkthrough on resizing – http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/11503.html)
Now to get to really business;
1.) Find your picture you’d like to make your crew emblem, then make it into a 512×512(pixels) using that IES of yours. (Again, theres a walkthrough above on how to resize using GIMP if you downloaded it.) If You want it to be a transparent back ground(instead of having a white square or a background), You’ll have to cut out your picture before we continue. (Another GIMP tutorial – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjxELpQ3Cxo)
Once you do this, make sure to save the picture as a .PNG.
2.) Once you’ve resized to 512×512 pixels and chose whether you’re using a transparent, we have to head over to vectormagic.com. Scroll down and click “Upload Image To Trace…”. (It should prompt you to create an account, if you haven’t already. Its quick and easy, and the website will not spam your email.) Once you finish the sign up/sign in, Click the Upload button again and select the .PNG of your soon-to-be crew emblem.
3.) Once you finish uploading, it will trace your image and turn it into a vector. *Note the white background on the finished trace, if you want a transparent, we will solve that on step 5* On the right-side of the page, there will be options to alter the quality and color of your emblem. Once you’re happy with it, click “Download Result”. It will bring you to a screen where it asks you to “Enable Download”. Click Enable, then download as a .SVG file.
4.) Once downloaded, although he uses Notepad++ in the video, you can go ahead and find the file and it should open up to Internet Explorer with the newly traced Vector Image showing. Right-click the image and towards the bottom of the list it should say something like “View Source”. Click that and a new window with a jumble of letters, numbers, and a few symbols.
5.) With the Source Code window still open, select all of the lines that start with “<Path fill=etcetc.."
*If you want a transparent or want that white background you saw on VectorMagic.com, Do NOT select <Path Fill=#ffffff etc etc. There may be more lines that say <Path Fill=#ffffff, Only ignore the topmost* Make sure to COPY the selected text.
6.) Now that we've selected the code and copied it, we open up socialclub.rockstargames.com on Google Chrome, and head over to the emblem creator(socialclub.rockstargames.com/emblems/new). Here comes the complicated section. Take a few seconds to compose yourself, you ready? I'm ready, here goes.
*Feel free to reference the video for this section, as I am copying it straight out of the video*
7.) Once the Emblem Creator is open, go down the swatches to the background color and set it to "NONE" then right-click the white & grey checkered background and select "Inspect element"
The box that pops up will have a line already selected, 3-4 lines above the pre-selected line, The line should be called " “.
8.) Right-Click on that line and select “Edit as HTML”. The very last “code” should be ” ”
Remember that code you copied back on Step 5? You will be pasting it between the “><" of " “.
9.) Once pasted, the emblem/picture should show up on the background. You can close the “Inspect Element” box. Then scroll down and save your emblem. If it doesn’t let you save, try again or try to figure out your problem. *Feel free to comment on this post if you have any questions. I will try to answer them the best I can*
Now that your emblem has been saved, lets move on to making it your crews emblem.
Note: You have to be high enough in the Crew Hierarchy or the Crew Leader to be able to change the Crew Emblem.
1.) If you’re still on the emblem page, scroll to the bottom and hover over your chosen emblem, it should give you a few options, Select “Publish”.
2.) Scroll down to the bottom and find your emblem. Hover over the emblem and select “Make Crew Emblem”.
Once that is all done, You’re picture is now your crew emblem. It will appear anywhere you can put a crew emblem. If you are on the PS3/360, make sure to leave GTA completely and your crew emblem will have refreshed.
Again, any questions or comments; Leave it on the comment section of this post and I’ll get back to you and feel free to share this!
